Aim of Exercise: to teach physical processes underlying a well known phenomenon
Objectives:
- to cover a number of requirements of the Key Stage 4: Double Science curriculum - these are shown in the diagram, Figure 1.
- to familiarise the pupils with scientific terminology relating to the electromagnetic spectrum
- to raise awareness of the possible impact of human behaviour on global processes.
- to make pupils aware of the difficulties of proving cause and effect and of the need for global monitoring which can be achieved using a number of data collection techniques including satellite remote sensing.
