About The GeoInformation Group
The GeoInformation Group is the UK's leading provider of high-resolution digital geo spatial image products. Its unique approach to the creation of aerial photographs and satellite images into large seamless databases over the last 5 years has established the company as a key provider of innovative solutions. This position was reaffirmed when the company was awarded Millennium Product status for its flagship product Cities Revealed. This award recognises Cities Revealed as "…representing the very best of British innovation, creativity and design." Said Rt Hon Tony Blair MP, Prime Minister.

The company distributes its products under the brand umbrella of CRWorld, with the best-known product brands being Cities Revealed® and Counties Revealed® high-resolution aerial photographic image solutions. It also publishes datasets under the Countries Revealed™; 1 metre resolution satellite imager from Space Imaging's IKONOS, Continents Revealed™; global topographic and image database, and Caribbean Revealed™ trademarks.

The company focuses on the creation of high-resolution data, with the emphasis being on a resolution of 1 metre or greater. "Most of the Cities Revealed datasets are created to give 25 cm (or higher) pixels showing the white lines on the roads. Datasets can cover over 3,000 sq km and up to 20 gigabytes of data can be compressed onto a single CD-ROM" says Alun Jones, the Commercial Director. Jones continued "Our datasets are in use by over 4,000 users across 4 continents within 21 market sectors making Cities Revealed the world leading solution for high resolution aerial photography."

The unique nature of the products has been achieved by bringing together a low cost production capability, compressing the databases using the unique image compression software MrSID®, and bundling the resulting data with a free image viewer which makes the data accessible to all users.

In addition to the core imagery products, the group also creates value-added datasets and recently launched the first aerial photographic update programme in the UK. The company also has a flourishing consultancy business working all around the world and is involved in training through its partnership with Kingston University, London, with the creation of the unique GIS Distance Learning Programme.
