Overview:

 

  • The WOUK2000 FREE CD-ROM contains over 7 GB (7000 MegaBytes) of UK images and supporting information - organised by geographic area, using the Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 Map series.

    It is written in HTML (thus simulating a web site - without the need for an internet connection, just an 8x CD-ROM drive and soundcard/speakers, Windows95/98/00/NT or Power PC Mac required for advanced features) and is compatible with PC, Mac, UNIX and Acorn web browsers.

    All data suppliers have web sites that contain more information and data. A number of educational web sites are also referenced from the CDROM, such as the National Learning Network for Remote Sensing and the International Space School Educational Trust.

  • Minimum Specification: Use (Java-enabled) Internet Explorer 4 / Netscape Navigator 4 - will look optimal with 1024x768 (Minimum: 800x600) True Colour screen settings. Core parts compatible with older browsers - Help section included on CDROM with details and work-arounds.
