7: Make a (themed) montage
Explanation
You can export images from the MrSID™ viewer as TIF files. If you open these in your image viewer, you can manipulate and merge them, then print them out to provide an attractive montage similar to the ones produced for the calendar. They could be themed for a particular data type or area.

Requirements

  • MrSID™ (compatible with Windows95/98/00/NT and Power PC Macs)
  • Image viewer (downloadable from the web - search on 'image viewer' at your favourite search engine eg www.yahoo.com) that contains a toolbox of options, special effects and filters
  • High quality printer

Steps

  1. Open the required image in the MrSID™ viewer
  2. Then export it to a TIF file on your hard disk
  3. Open this TIF file in your image viewer
  4. Use the image viewer's various tools to cut, paste and apply filter effects to the various image components of the montage
  5. Now print this image
