  2. All the pages that contain the answers have a Treasure Chest in the bottom lefthand corner
  3. All but one of the answers are written on pages in the CDROM

EXPLANATION
To find the treasure, search the CD for the answers to 6 questions - use the map to point to the treasure. Email the answer and keep your fingers crossed.

Using the map to find the treasure is simple. First, print the map out. You will see that the treasure map has lines over it, forming a 'grid', like a normal map. The grid enables you to pinpoint areas by using the letters along the side to point to where two lines cross on the map. Just like a normal map, you first read the letter for the lines running horizontally across the top (A-M) followed by the letter for the lines running vertically down the side (N-Z).

Look at the map, find the picture of a newspaper - it is pointed to by the letters L,O and not O,L.

LOOK OUT! - Like all treasure hunts, there is a trap. Not all the answers are on the CD - There is one question that you have to answer on your own...

Now follow the instructions below to help you find the treasure.

Print this map (110K) to help you find the treasure

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. To find the treasure, you must answer 6 questions to unearth the winning treasure chest. This is how:

  2. Each question will have a two word answer. The first letter of each word makes up the co-ordinate for each treasure chest on the map. For example, the answer to the question 'What is the name of the town nearest the highest mountain in the UK?' is Fort William. The first two letters of Fort William are F & W. Look on the map to find the treasure chest that is on the co-ordinates pointed to by the letters F & W and mark a cross over it.

  3. When all the questions have been answered, one chest will remain. The two letters that are the co-ordinates of this final chest are the answer. Remember that the chest on F,W is for our example and not the answer.

Remember our Treasure Hunt is just for fun!

THE QUESTIONS:

  1. What is the name of the structure that was at the northern limit of the Roman empire?
  2. What is the name of the first Briton in space?
  3. It doesn't have 365 days.
  4. Which Dorset town is a good base for fossil hunting?
  5. What is the name of the northwest tip of mainland Scotland?
  6. What is the Roman name for Bath?

GOOD HUNTING!
