ERDAS, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in Geographic Imaging software solutions, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, was founded in 1978 as a commercial spin-off of research developed at Harvard University and the Georgia Institute of Technology. ERDAS supplies individuals, companies, and governments with image processing software to visualise and analyse geographic imagery and turn it into a powerful decision-support tool for its users.
In 1993, ERDAS (UK), based in Cambridge, was established as the UK and Eire distributor for the ERDAS IMAGINE™ range of Geographic Imaging products. Cambridge is also home to ERDAS International which was formed in 1995 serving as the European Headquarters to support the European distributor network. The Cambridge office currently employs 14 professional staff in subjects ranging from Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry to Geographical Information Systems.
ERDAS (UK) operates as an exclusive distributor for ERDAS Inc in UK and Eire. Services provided by ERDAS (UK) also includes training, software customisation, technical support and consultancy.

ERDAS IMAGINE Software
ERDAS IMAGINE is an easy-to-use, customisable software package providing a complete suite of image processing, GIS analysis, photogrammetry, mapping and visualisation tools, to fulfil a wide variety of earth resource applications. ERDAS IMAGINE is an advanced windows based suite of geo-processing software available on workstations and PCs. Specific tools include; intelligent data viewing, automated map composition, image mosaicing, image enhancement, image classification, geometric ortho-rectification, change detection, vector map update and 3D visualisation and stereo feature extraction.
