About the Millennium Mapping Company
The Millennium Mapping Company was established in November 1998 specifically to produce and market the first complete, full-colour, digital, aerial photographic map of the UK. The Millennium Map™ will revolutionise the usage and cost of high quality aerial photograhy by making it widely available in digital formats to both the professional user and to the general public. As the map is also being built over a short period of time, it represents a "snapshot" of the United Kingdom at the start of the new millennium - a modern day Domesday Book.

Traditional aerial photography is usually commissioned for individual customers, at different times and to different specifications. Consequently, there is no central source to which a user can go to find, let alone procure, data for every part of the UK. The Millennium Map™ will change all that by being complete, consistent and accessible, even through the Internet!

MMC has selected leading companies in the fields of aerial photography, digital data scanning and internet delivery systems to be its partners to build the Millennium Map™. Similarly, MMC is working with well-established value-added resellers to market the data to all sectors of business such as local government, education, property and leisure. To complement its resellers, MMC is building a network of franchisees to sell Millennium Map™ products directly to the general public.

MMC has also acquired the stock and marketing rights for the facsimile edition of William the Conqueror's Domesday Book, produced in 1986 to commemorate the 900th Anniversary of the original. The Domesday Book and the Millennium Map™ complement each other perfectly and a range of products has been produced which emphasises the historical link between the two.
